Conventus Adria management went on a roadtrip to the most popular coastal MICE destinations in Croatia to meet with the business partners that provide a truly high-end experience whether its the hotels and resort accommodation, venues for organizing large scale events, restaurants with authentic culinary specialities, National parks and natural wonders, famous historical attractions or adrenaline activities on sea and land.
We started our journey by visiting the coastal town Opatija, that with its impecable Austrohungarian architecture, green surroundings and mediterranean climate instantly makes you feel relaxed. The beautiful Hotels Milenij, 4 Opatijska cvijeta and Grand hotel Adriatic successfully combine all the best traits of Opatija and offer fantastic possibilities to organize a demanding conference or incentive travel experience in a pleasant atmosphere.
Our next visit was to the most northern part of the Croatian coast which is the peninsula consisting of the charming inland towns atop the hills like Motovun and Grožnjan famous for their truffles and high quality white wine home produce.
Moving to the coast we visited the charming historical town Poreč and boarded the ship to the breathtaking Valamar Isabella island Resort – the island itself is comprised of newly renovated hotels, villas and a castle that with its beautiful open and diverse green spaces and beaches offer numerous options in organizing a truly spectacular events and projects. Shortly after, we visited the hotel Diamant on the coast of Poreč, to get a better look into its MICE capabilties, and with its numerous large conference halls and nearby hotels it can successfully host large and medium sized conferences.
After that we made our way to the Lim fjord, famous for its shellfish specialities and boat rides to the nearby coastal towns – one of them is town Rovinj full of rich historical heritage and architecture. In conjunction with the modern hotels like Lone and Eden it offers a wide variety of possibilities for a spectacular MICE project.
Our next stop was the town Pula, most famous for its Roman Amphitheater that is an ideal place for organizing large concerts or gala events.
We continued south along the Croatian coast to visit the town Zadar – its sandy beaches, mediterranean climate, nearby National parks combined with the eventful historic Old town offers something amazing for every guest. Its hotels, the modern Falkensteiner Iadera and the newly renovated Borik, are an ideal choice for a memorable incentive trip or medium sized conference projects.
Going further along the coast we made a visit to the pictoresque Resort Crvena luka, located near town Šibenik. What sets it apart is the untouched nature where it is located – crystal clear sea, beautiful sandy beach and the pine tree forest. Aside from that the resort offers diverse accommodation options whether its the spacious hotel rooms or the nearby apartments, while for the MICE segment there are numerous options whether its the events space on the beaches or the conference halls in the hotel.
Next was the tour of the Old town Šibenik that, with its massive historic forts that now serve as spectacular venues, gave us a great insight into the possibilities for organizing large gala events and unique MICE projects. Complementing that offer are the Amadria Park Šibenik Hotels & Resort which with its newly built conference center can organize the most ambitious conferences in Croatia, while the D-Resort Šibenik is a great choice for incentive travel groups.
We made a stop at the largest coastal city in Croatia – Split. It is famous for the ancient Diocletian palace positioned in the city center surrounded by sea, beaches, mediterranean climate and the nearby sunny islands Hvar and Brač.
Hotel Le Meridien Lav that is located there complements it perfectly with its large and contemporary conference halls, charming gala event spaces and a harbor for event ships – that is why an unforgetable and special event experience is guaranteed.
Located a bit to the south is the town Omiš that, with its fascinating stone cliffs and river Cetina, offers a great sightseeing trip to experience activities like kayaking and mountain climbing and is also famous for its specific gastronomy specialities.
On the way to the most southern part of Croatia a visit to town Ston was mandatory and there are many reasons for that – first, there is the Ston saltworks that with its traditional way of producing salt makes it top quality, then there are the imposing Ston walls, in length second only to the Chinese wall, and lastly the natural oyster production that Ston is famous for – because of the favourable unique climate and water composition they are regarded as the best in the world. We are thankful for the great insight into all the hard work that goes into making the oyster cultivation perfect from mr. Sveto, the owner of Vila Koruna and oyster production in Ston.
We finally arrived to Dubrovnik, the pearl of the Adriatic, and the most famous destination in Croatia. The Old city that we were greeted with has centuries old history – from the imposing stone walls to the historical buildings and venues, the natural wonders and the Elaphite islands surrounding it, makes all of this Dubrovnik truly spectacular.
There we made our way to the Importanne Hotels and Resort to discover the latest in the MICE segment offer – on the coast of Dubrovnik with the newly built Royal Palm hotel and the high-end conference center complemented by existing beautiful surroundings, open sea view and the hotels Royal Princess, Royal Palm, Ariston and Neptun the Importanne resort can organize the most demanding and exclusive MICE projects.
Our next destination was the Valamar Riviera Dubrovnik Hotels and Resort, located on the coast with a beautiful beach, charming spacious green areas and parks suitable for large complex MICE projects. The newly renovated hotels President and Argosy together with the modern hotel Lacroma represent the high-end MICE offer of Dubrovnik – with a large conference center hall suitable for more than a thousand participants and with the supporting restaurants, outdoor and indoor event spaces a truly spectacular event is guaranteed.
At the end of our trip we visited the charming Konavle region near Dubrovnik to experience the authentic way of living that is present there and where a lot of activities for Incentive events or tours are available. The beautiful pictoresque nature complements the historic architecture and traditional folklore, such a place is the restaurant Konavovski dvori where we sat near the river to enjoy the sound of the river waterfall and taste a traditional meal prepared “Under the bell”.
Our amazing experience along the Croatian coast reminded us just how diverse and spectacular Croatia is whether its the natural wonders, state of the art Hotel MICE offer, fantastic gastronomy or the exciting activities and discovery tours, and that is why we would be truly honored to be able to have you as our dear guest and show you Croatia in person.
